About Me

My Photo
My wife and our soon to be 6 children live in the city of Rochester's 19th Ward. We enjoy worshiping and following Jesus. As parents we home school our children to spend time with them and give them the freedom to learn and explore outside of the traditional school building. As part of the Church we also enjoy worshiping and serving outside of a traditional church building. We like having our home filled with guests and best of all, getting to know people over a meal. As an evangelist and teacher of the Bible, I want to connect people to God who would never set foot in a traditional church. For employment I work at a safety company doing consulting and sales, as well as operate a boxing club for fitness and recreation.

I think Halloween is quickly becoming my favorite holiday.
It's the perfect opportunity to tell the scariest story ever!
Most of the time people don't like to hear about Satan, hell, demons, devils or the works of darkness.
Talk like that tends to ruin a perfectly good illusion that everything is all right and that there are no monsters in the shadows.
But seriously...on this day the enemy is just begging for attention so why not give it to him by shining light into the darkness. We can peel back the curtain to the spirit world and shine a light on that devil who prowls about looking for someone to devour.
We had a big Halloween party for the neighborhood, and it was a great turnout.
The center piece of the event was to tell the story of the Gospel from Satan's perspective and invite people to give their allegiance to the true king.
The story was about the fall of Lucifer, his nature and schemes...how he tried to undo the human race in the garden but was met with a promise of the deliver and his own ultimate destruction. We told about how he controlled and deceived mankind until the lord destroyed the world with a flood except one righteous man and his family. How He tried to destroy Israel because the deliverer was to come through that nation. That he tried to destroy the deliverer and was defeated at the resurrection. Finally - how his fate was the lake of fire and that his goal is to take as many people as possible with him by tempting them away from the light of Jesus, and by slandering God to convince people that God is their enemy. Ultimately they were invited to seek Jesus for their salvation and to escape the hold of the enemy.
There are some logistical issues that need to be worked out for next year, because I never imagined so many people would come. Regardless it was great to see the light of the gospel shining on such a traditionally dark day.
